While this is no doubt unbelievably close footage, It was foolish beyond belief. This kind of stunt gives all chasers a bad name.
I would argue that this footage was captured quite safely. You can tell in the beginning he knew the direction the tornado was heading and stayed clear of its path with plenty of room to maneuver. This was executed very well and he maintained situational awareness throughout. Close does not always mean unsafe.
A location would have been nice as I live 3 E of town.

I'm 33 years old, and have been watching tornado videos since i was a little boy checking them out at the library. Out of the thousands I've watched, this one is hands down the scariest one I've ever seen!

I guarantee you ,these two lads will never chase a tornado again after this .They were so lucky that they survived this green monster 2,6 miles wide over 200 miles of multi vortex winds !

You think you are in the clear of this tornado, but the overhanging storm front is traveling at 55-60mph and the interior of the tornado has many spawing vortex that are spinning 300+ mph
